St John’s DSG tennis player to participate in SA Nationals
St John’s D.S.G. Matric pupil, Maxine Bateman, was recently selected to participate in the South African Nationals Tournament in Bloemfontein, where all the top players in the country compete. Maxine placed 2nd and is the only KZN player to be in the top 10 in the country. She also made the South African Schools’ U19 A Tennis team.


St John’s DSG SA National Swim Champ

Swim Star! Emma Kuhn

St John’s D.S.G. is very proud of Emma Kuhn, one of their Grade 7 pupils, who recently swam at the South African National Junior Championships and won gold medals for the 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke. Emma was also selected to represent KwaZulu-Natal at the National South African Schools Swimming Championships, where she won gold in the 200m breaststroke, silver in the 50m breaststroke, silver in the 200m Individual Medley, bronze in the 100m breaststroke and gold for the 4x50m Individual Medley relay. Well done, Emma!


St Johns DSG Learner wins Woolworths Writing cmpetition

Nonhlanhla Siwela accepts her gift voucher from Jackie Hardien of Woolworths

Jackie Hardien from Woolworths with St John’s D.S.G. Grade 9 pupil, Nonhlanhla Siwela, who submitted a beautiful poem to the Woolworths “Imagine a Waterless World” competition. Nonhlanhla was one of 8 winners around the country and won a R500 Woolworths voucher and an indispensable water tank for her school. Well done, Nonhlanhla!
