St Charles College pupils

St Charles College pupils have been busy, gaining selection to regional teams in rugby and soccer, with the soccer boys going on tour to Spain.

A number of boys in the Preparatory School were selected to the KZN Midlands Rugby team. They are:

U13, Matthew Urquhart; U12, Connor Riley; U13, Ross Boast; U12, Daniel Haines; U13, Brayden Crookes.

At the 2017 PMB High Schools’ FA Cup, an U19 team was selected to represent the PMB High Schools Football Association. St Charles College 1st team players, Brayden Sampson and Luyanda Mazeka were selected and toured Spain over the Easter Holidays.


Their tour saw them playing four matches against local teams in Barcelona and Madrid as well as training sessions with professional coaches. The highlight was watching a live Barcelona match at Camp Nou where Lionel Messi’s brilliance was on full display as he scored a hat-trick including a free-kick to give Barcelona the win over CD Leganes.

They also visited the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium and met the SA Ambassador to Spain, Smuts Ngonyama, in Madrid.

This week, the Senior Primary boys participated in their annual Inter House Cross Country.

The age group winners were:
U10 – Thandanani Zuma
U11 – Rowen Rajah
U12 – Grant Bridgeford
Open – Connor Houghting
