Santa school box drive in Howick

Oasis Church in Howick is driving an initiative to supply and pack 500 school boxes for needy primary school kids for the new school year.

Pastor Matt Hogarty urged the Howick community to get behind the project, saying their support would change the lives of the children as the community invested in their education for 2019.

“As the festive season approaches we would like you to join us in giving our community a gift that will not only provide momentary happiness but also the means to make their school year successful. We aim to distribute 500 school boxes to underprivileged learners in Bhekamatshe Primary at the start of the 2019 school year.”

Many of these pupils would otherwise start their school year with little or no stationery, making it difficult to make academic progress.

“Through your generous partnership, we hope to change young lives by giving them the right start. Join us in making a difference this Christmas,” said Matt.

Here are ways you can partner with the church:

*Pick up a school box, and return it to Oasis filled with the items on the list;

*Donate a few items on the school box list (see list below) and they will make up a school box on your behalf;

*Purchase a school box for R200 or make a financial donation towards this project. This can be done by EFT into the following account:
