Records fall at Laddsworth athletics events

Laddsworth Primary school in Hilton held its annual Athletics Field Events on August 16 and Track Events on August 17, 2018.

Grade 3 to 7 pupils took part in the event and there was great rivalry between the four Houses: Duiker, Kudu, Nyala and Oribi, with Duiker emerging the winner at the end of the two events.

Ellen Oosthuizen (Grade 5) breaking the Girls Under 11 high jump record, with a height of 1.30m.

Despite the cold weather, four records were broken over the two days:
Shot Put Girls Under 11 – Danielle Kaschula (Kudu) – Distance 9.15m
High Jump Boys Under 9 – Declan Bornman (Oribi)- Height 1.11m
High Jump Girls Under 11 – Ellen Oosthuizen (Oribi) – Height 1.30m
Under 9 Boys 100m Relay – Ayanda Kunene, Nicandro Padayachee, Cameron Dunbar and Quillan Fyvie (Oribi) – Time: 1m 09.94s
