MMEP says Thank You Rotary Foundation

Thank you Rotary … from the MMEP

Last year Mr Pat Draper of Rotary Foundation brought in a TV screen and spoke to us about alternative ways of teaching using technology. Thank you sincerely for your generous donation of 17 Television Screens to the MMEP and schools we work with. This technological advancement will enable us to teach more effectively in the classroom, as well as enable us to show learners educational videos and demonstrations. These screens are really valuable assets for our work. We appreciate your kind support and generosity Rotary. Thank you.

Ligbron e-Learning Project

MMEP Ligbron Elearning Project

Jessica Gird and Fiona MacCrimmon joined the Michaelhouse Ligbron e-Learning Project launch at Shea O’Connor School. This project is a partnership between various organisations and brings supplementary, practical maths and science into the classrooms. Each school involved receives an interactive white board, computer, speakers and TV screen. The class then links up to a teacher, live, in Ermelo who revises the past weeks work and then begins the next weeks work. The computer and white board have many different options and functions; children can learn about maths and science in 3D, there are PowerPoint lessons for teachers, past recorded lessons, tests and assessments and much more. This project is currently doubling maths and science results and is playing a very serious role in potentially transforming education in South Africa. We are so excited and hope to be able to work alongside this inspiring project.   Check it out:
