Just before half-term, Michaelhouse hosted the “Strong Mothers, Strong Sons” course run by Megan de Beyer. This is the 16th time Michaelhouse has held the course and, once again, it was fully booked.

The programme deepens a mother’s understanding of herself and offers advice on conscious and intentional parenting, as well as tools that allow boys to become strong and caring men. Topics covered included masculinity, gender differences, social lives of boys and substance abuse, as well as how to tackle emotions.

The school thanked sponsors, Illovo Sugar, and the Wartburg community as a whole. “We owe much to our loyal farmers of the area, as well at SAPPI, who open their land to us. They cleared, cut and marked the routes for the many athletes participating.”
