As northern parts of the country grapple with flooding, the rain and and cooler weather that arrived in the KZN Midlands on Sunday is set in for the week.
The SA Weather Service predicts cooler temperatures with a chance of rain from Tuesday to Friday, with clear weather on the weekend and a warm day (at this stage) on Saturday.
Flooding has been reported in parts of Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, North West province and the North-Eastern Free State.
On social media, people shared footage of videos taken from their cars, with buildings, bridges and other infrastructure under threat from rising water.

Here’s a sample of temperatures and weather conditions predicted by the weather service for the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands this week:
Howick: Tue 16/13C; Wed 21/13; Thur 20/12; Fri 22/12 – there is a chance of rain on all four days.
Greytown: Maximum temperatures of between 16 and 24C over the four days and a good chance of rain. Minimum of 13-14C.
Pietermaritzburg will see similar temperatures, with a good chance of rain over the four days.
Underberg will see similar conditions with a low of 10C on Thursday and Friday and peaking at 24C on Friday.
Mooi River also has a good chance of rain over the four days and cool but moderate temperatures.
