A pair of cosy PJs to warm up winter!

The kiddies modelling their new warm pyjamas courtest of Nyati Textiles and local residents.

A joint effort between residents of The Bend near Nottingham Road and Keith Upton of Nyati Textiles has seen members of the local community produce and donate a pair of warm pyjamas for 22 pupils at Isipethu Semfundo School.

The donation from Durban-based Nyati allowed the excited Bend residents to commission local seamstress Annatoria to make the beautiful, colourful jarmies for the kiddies at the school, which is on the Lotheni Road.

Jackie Feuilherade said, “We awoke to a beautiful, sunny day and headed to Annatoria, the local seamstress in Nottingham Road who had been given the task of making up the sets of boys and girls’ pyjamas. Then with all the the bags labelled with each child’s name on, we eagerly set out to meet the children with Ms Khona Zulu in charge and her staff.”

Jackie’s cleaner Nosipho accompanied the group to assist with translations and, according to Jackie, was excited as she had attended the same school when a primary school pupil. She also knows a number of the families of current pupils, so it was a special moment for her.

Jackie also thanked Christine Martin for her assistance in taking measurements, emailing and getting in contact with the headmistress, Mrs Nene Philpine.
