Weston Boys Study Alternate Power
The importance of researching and using alternate power in our everyday activities is a hot topic and Weston’s Grade 11 geography class has not only gained theoretical knowledge but have also had the opportunity to see it in practise.
After studying alternative power this term, their Geography teacher Chris Nowlan took them on an excursion to the Allan’s farms at Curry’s Post. The farm is run completely by wind and solar power. For the boys, it was very interesting to see an application, which has successfully gone off the national grid and enabled the farm to be totally self-sufficient for its power needs. This aspect of the subject has a lasting impact on the learners for the future.
