On Tuesday 26th July, St Charles College officially turned 141 years old! This momentous occasion was celebrated by the entire College, as everyone gathered on Harwin field to commemorate the College’s birthday. A special cake was cut by the Chairman of the Board, Mr Shaun Quin, the College’s Principal, Mr Allen van Blerk, the Deputy Principal, Mr Graham Stewart-Burger and the Head Boy, Calum Nish. A special thank you goes to St Charles College parent, Zeenath Hoosen, for very generously donating the magnificent cake. St Charles College Old Boy and staff member, Mr Brad Hutton gave an inspiring speech, aimed specifically at the boys.

The Founder’s Day Dash was one of the highlights, as boys from the Senior Primary, Middle School and Upper School sprinted down St Charles College’s drive. And what is a birthday without some tasty treats? There were some delicious doughnuts for the boys to enjoy. The College remembers its heritage and all those who contributed to making it the place it is today, it also looks forward to the prospects that the future holds for continued growth and success.

St Charles College recently had its cultural event of the year – The Talent Show. The performers from St Charles College and St John’s D.S.G all put a great deal of effort into rehearsing their acts for the Talent Show, which resulted in some phenomenal performances. It was so impressive to see the talent that was showcased. Local PMB band, MT Seas, put on an awesome performance for the audience whilst the judges deliberated. Congratulations to the Preparatory School and Senior School winning acts!

The Senior School Photography Club at St Charles College has been gaining some great momentum and this week they ventured off the campus to try out their photography skills on some new scenery. Mr Smit, their teacher, took some of the boys to the Botanical Gardens. Thankfully, the rain and sodden ground had begun to dry out and the boys were able to explore and photograph the striking gardens.
