Sunshine, Green Grass and Golf!

The Sunflower Fund and Land Rover are starting a new chapter in 4X4 and golf in Pietermaritzburg by hosting their first annual Sunflower Fund Golf Day at The Victoria Country Club on Friday, 20th June 2014. Stefan Terblanche, former Springbok rugby player, will be donning his golf shirt and flying The Sunflower Fund’s flag at this prestigious celebrity event and challenges all Maritzburg golfers, rugby and 4×4 fans to play a round of golf to help raise funds for a worthy cause.

Land Rover Pietermaritzburg has generously donated four 4×4 Land Rover Experiences valued at R3290 per person and local businesses have pledged other exciting lucky draw prizes. The format is a 4 ball alliance, two scores to count so if you would like to be part of this event filled with sunshine and hope then get your company, colleagues and associates together and enter a 4 ball or individuals to make up a four ball at a cost of R1800 or give your company some “Shine Time” by sponsoring 4 ball prizes, goodie bag items and spots on the greens and tees.

The event aims to raise money for The Sunflower Fund whose sole purpose is to pay for the tissue typing of potential bone marrow stem cell donors for inclusion on the South African Bone Marrow Registry. The more donors on the Registry the more hope leukaemia patients and others with life threatening blood disorders have of finding their 1:100 000 life-saving donor match.
