Sunflower Fund’s Annual Charity Golf Day

On Friday 20th June, 88 golfers enjoyed a stunning day of sunshine and golf at the Victoria Country Club (VCC). This was in aid of The Sunflower Fund’s first annual Charity Golf Day in association with Land Rover Pietermaritzburg. Stefan Terblanche compered the evening and entertained all during prize giving with his golfing and rugby stories. A total of R84 368 was raised and the funds will be used to pay for the tissue typing of potential bone marrow stem cell donors for inclusion on the South African Bone Marrow Registry.

The Sunflower Fund would like to express their gratitude to all the sponsors who contributed to the success of the event and especially to VCC, Land Rover Pietermaritzburg and Golf Resorts Club for their support. A special thank you to ‘Just Boutique’ and ‘Anytime Events’ for their hands-on approach in contributing to the overall success of the day. Most importantly thank you to all the participating golfers whose support gives hope to leukaemia patients and their families searching for a bone marrow stem cell donor match.
