Durban Coastal fly-half Jordan Bamber from Durban Preparatory leaves opposing players standing still as he slices through the defence of the Midlands U12 team at the recent SPAR KZN Primary Schools’ Rugby Tournament held at the Woodburn Stadium in Pietermaritzburg.

The teams have been announced, three KwaZulu Natal squads were announced after the SPAR KZN Primary Schools’ Rugby Tournament that took place at the Woodburn Stadium in Pietermaritzburg from 18 – 20 May.

The teams will represent the province, the U13A will be travelling up to the renowned Craven Week, the U13B team will head to Vryheid and the U12 team will be going to Sasolburg. 66 young lads will don the prized jerseys as they endeavour to make a name for themselves at the upcoming tournaments.

“We are proud of the selection of players that have been chosen, there is a huge representation of the Durban Coastal schools in the U13 A and U12 age groups. We look forward to the further development of these boys and also the development of KwaZulu-Natal Rugby as well; the individuals that have been selected showed competitiveness, hunger for the game and great sportsmanship throughout the tournament and trials.”  Louis Botha, Tournament Director stated.

“We were very impressed with the quality of rugby at the tournament, it can only mean good things for the future of the game. We wish the squads the very best for the upcoming tournaments!
