The team at Singakwenza Education and Health are looking forward to another successful year of uplifting others through their empowerment programmes. They are extremely grateful for the support which they receive from their many supporters, be it financially from their Rainbow Champions or in various other ways. The year has started off with a wonderful boost as they have secured some funding from The Emirates Airline Foundation. Application was made in September, and after numerous emails back and forth, the Board of the Foundation invited the Singakwenza ECD Director to fly to Dubai at their cost in order to present to the CEO of Emirates and the rest of their board. In the letter from the Secretary General announcing their support for Singakwenza over the next two years and probably beyond, he stated “We were particularly impressed with your commitment to the children of South Africa and your unwavering vision of improving early childhood education in your country.” He added, “It also gives me great pride to tell you that Singakwenza is the first partner of our Foundation in South Africa”. This funding will go towards expanding the Early Childhood Development programme into more crèches and running more Waste 2 Toys workshops in rural areas.

Singakwenza, which means “We can do it”, encourages those who have an interest in making a sustainable difference in the lives of others to contact them to find out more about what they can do. “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.” 033 343 1650 or 082 321 1283
