The “Rats Nest”
The “Rats Nest” was a project initiated by the Grade 4’s of 2013. It is used as an outdoor classroom, where the boys are given the opportunity to build relationships, explore, create, design, plant and learn from, and in nature. One project involves each boy being given an indigenous tree seed to plant and take care of for the entire year. Each tree is pruned and manicured into a bonsai, that they will eventually take home at the end of their Grade 7 year.
