First KZN Google For Education Summit at GHS

Pietermaritzburg Girls’ High School hosted the first ever KwaZulu-Natal Google For Education Summit facilitated by EdTech South Africa, during the first week of July. This two day event takes place in Cape Town and Johannesburg but has come to KZN for the first time this year. Educators from schools in and around KZN attended the event which was a great success.

 

 

 

 

The GHS Choir will head to the ATKV finals taking place in August

GHS Choir to ATKV final
The Pietermaritzburg Girls’ High School choir took part in the regional round of the ATKV Applous Choir competition in May. This is a national competition that takes place in different regions all over South Africa, as well as Namibia. This year over 190 choirs took part in the regional rounds, ranging from primary – to high school choirs. At the regional round the Pietermaritzburg Girls’ High School choir received a gold award. They have also qualified for the final round of the competition which will take place in Pretoria in August. They are one of only three choirs in their category that will take part in the final round.
