Be part of the Mobile of 1 000 Cranes

untitled-3181 (2)

In Japan, the tradition of folding 1 000 cranes is done when someone has a wish, be it for peace, health, luck or marital happiness. It is believed that the more people are involved, the more luck you will have.

At the Calligraphy Cafe in Nottingham Road, we are building a movile of 1 000 origami cranes as a fundraiser for the Crane Foundation and their work to save the Wattled Crane.

For a R5.00 donation you can learn to fold a crane, and add your wish to our mobile. We have collected over 300 so far. We are open from Tuesday to Friday from 10h00 to 16h00, and on Saturday from 09h00 to 13h00.
