Athletics: College Athletes recently participated in the Kingsway High School Invitational Meeting. Thirteen schools from KZN and one team from Gauteng competed at the meeting. Once again, Treverton track and field athletes did exceptionally well; achieving 17 first places; 11-second places; 8 third places, and breaking five records. Outstanding Grade 9 athlete Bophelo Seoe, won the U15 – 100m, 200 m and long jump in record times and distance and set up three new records.
Hockey: Grade 11 Jeanne Botha who was a member of the U18A Natal Inland hockey team to play South African Hockey tournament at Kearsney College during the holidays was chosen to play in an U17 invitation side against a touring Australian U17 National team. Although they lost the match, it provided the South African girls with valuable experience. Treverton’s Kate Armitage was also a member of the Natal Inland U18A team; the Inland team were runners-up at the tournament. Multi-talented Bophelo Seoe participated in the U16 National tournament in Pietermaritzburg as a member of the Natal Inland team. The team finished 5th overall out of 24-teams.
