Non-Stop Dusi Race In 12-Hours

Weston Agricultural College Grade 12, Robert Winter, one of the school’s most accomplished canoeists completed the demanding Non-Stop Dusi Race in 12-hours. He left Pietermaritzburg at 05h30 and arrived in Durban at exactly 17h30. He undertook the route, and covered the 135 km event in one day, which is an astounding feat. He paddled on his own. He is an experienced canoeist and was awarded Weston’s Champion Canoeist trophy in 2013. Robert comes from Estcourt.

Robert has also made Weston history, as he is the first Weston paddler to complete the race in a K1. It is a brilliant achievement, in Weston’s centenary year.
