New Hanover Prep News – Grade 5 Outing

New Hanover Prep adventurer Liam Freese enjoying the hike and the beautiful Drakensberg scenery.

The New Hanover Prep Grade 5 class went on an outing to the Northern Drakensberg last week. It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to be exposed to the outdoors and natural beauty on our doorstep. The children hiked up to, and spent the night in Cannibal Cave. The weather played its part, and the kids had a ball swimming in rock pools and dams along the way.
The second day saw the children participating in fun team building activities at the All Out Adventure centre. The King Swing, Zip Line and Bungee Bounce activities being some of their favourites! The trip was topped off with a night of camping at the Royal Natal National Park.
On the way home the group stopped off at the Tower of Pizza restaurant where the children got to make their own pizzas!

New Hanover Pre Primary Nativity Play

Amy van Breda and Cullum Trethewey played the parts of Mary and Joseph

On Friday 17th November, the New Hanover Pre-primary hosted their nativity play. The children performed and sang songs about Jesus’s birth. They did a wonderful job and all their hard work and preparation paid off. It was fantastic to have the indoor centre filled with family and friends for this event and a great way to kick off the festive season!
