Michaelhouse Player selected at U16 Paarl Gimnasium Rugby Tournament Festival

Following this year’s 25th edition of the tournament, the organisers decided to select a tournament team.  Michaelhouse is thrilled to hear that Seun Afolayan has been selected for this team.

 

MHS Canoeists recognised with Colours
The KZN Canoeing Union held their annual prize-giving, at the Durban Marine Life-saving Club, in May. The following Michaelhouse canoeists received awards based on their efforts over the 2015/16 season:
KZN U16 Colours:  Dominic Leslie

KZN U18 Colours:  Emmanuel Zaloumis , and Jean van der Westhuyzen.

Jean van der Westhuyzen was also awarded his Junior Federation Colours for Sprints at African Champs as well as his Junior Protea Colours for his efforts at the World Sprint Championships held in Minsk, Belarus.

Michaelhouse represent South African Fly Fishing
Congratulations to Kieran Ramsay and Robbie Melouney who were capped with SAFFA National Colours for Fly Fishing at a ceremony on 13 May. They left after the ceremony to compete in the Czech Republic Fly Fishing Youth Nationals, where Robbie finished 21st and Kieran 33rd of 42 Anglers.

Michaelhouse Learner starring in SA Movie
NUL IS NIE NIKS NIE
Jaden van der Merwe (E Block, Farfield) was interviewed on Die Groot Ontybyt on Kyknet in May. Jaden will be starring in the leading role of a new South African film which will be showing in cinemas from 7 July 2017.
Nul is nie niks nie tells the story of Hoender (Jaden van der Merwe), a twelve year old chicken farmer, who befriends the neighbour’s son, Drikus, an aspiring filmmaker. They soon form a bond with Chris, the girl next door, and set out to make a movie which inspires those around them to live life to the fullest.
