A memorable journey for Mrs SA finalist from KZN
In celebration of National Women’s Day, Friday 8th August saw the final of the Mrs South Africa Pageant take place at the Emperor’s Palace, Gauteng. Twenty-two exquisite finalists took to the stage in what was a truly glamorous evening. The Pageant, considered most prestigious in our Country, encourages ambitious, passionate and sophisticated married women to showcase their inner and outer beauty. Those who enter are empowered women between the ages of 25 and 50, wives, moms, business women…all striving for success in all aspects of their life.
The title of Mrs South Africa 2015 went to Sarah-Kate Scott of Gauteng. The Meander Chronicle is honoured to have been invited to attend this incredible event and to support the only KZN entrant, Melissa Vurovecz of Hilton, who had the honour of the title, Mrs Photogenic bestowed on her.
What an adventure and memorable journey it has been for the only Mrs SA finalist from KZN who competed in the Mrs SA Grand Finale on the 8th of August. Although she didn’t bring home the crown she did come home with the title of Mrs Photogenic with a prize of a professional photo shoot with Brendon Croft, the official Mrs South Africa photographer. Melissa Vurovecz competed against twenty-one other finalists.
Melissa said that she has no regrets from participating in the pageant and would like to encourage other women to enter next year because the process is priceless and you grow so much as an individual. Entries open in November, for more information see the Mrs South Africa website mrssouthafrica.co.za.
Melissa would like to thank her gold sponsors Hereford Group and The Ballitto House. Thank you to Senses Day Spa, Yonique Hair Studio, and Angelico Designs for making sure Melissa always looked her best as a finalist. Many thanks go to Caroline Soar owner of Caroline Soar Photography who did a finalist photo shoot with Melissa.
Carene Breytenbach, former Mrs South Africa, was instrumental in making all of this possible as she was Melissa’s coach and mentor. Melissa believes without Carene’s help she wouldn’t have got so far in the pageant.
Melissa would like to express her gratitude to all her family, friends and supporters for believing in her and helping her on her journey. Last but not least Melissa would like to thank the lover of her soul, Jesus Christ for providing her the opportunity and people to help her grow and develop into a more confident woman.
