A new thriller and crime mystery is always a welcome read, and there are many new releases to choose from.
Though this not his usual style of a rather involved spy plot, John Le Carré’s latest, OUR KIND OF TRAITOR, is a story of double-crossing in a corrupt world of high finance and state security.
DCI Banks is back again in Peter Robinson’s WHEN THE MUSIC’S OVER. Now promoted to Superintendent, Banks, together with DI Annie Cabbot, has to uncover evidence from decades ago. This is a taut mystery that will also have the reader trying to solve the case.
DEAD IN THE WATER by Cape Town based Irna van Zyl, Detective Storm van der Merwe discovers the body of a young journalist. Shark attack or murder on the beach near Grootbaai? With a mix of abalone poaching, a dead Springbok rugby player and corruption this debut detective novel is in English and Afrikaans as MOORDVIS.
