Laddsworth Primary Classical Ballerinas
Laddworth Grade 4 pupils; Rachel Eweg and Sarah Carver did their ballet exams recently, in Pietermaritzburg. Rachel Eweg received a ballet exam certificate for Grade 1 Ballet. Sarah Carver received a distinction in her Grade 1 Classical Cecchetti Ballet exams. Sarah was invited to perform at the Cecchetti Gala Performance at the Natal Playhouse on 28 October.
Laddsworth vocalist in eThekweni Eisteddfod
Mia du Preez, a Grade 4 pupil at Laddsworth Primary School, took part in the eThekweni Eisteddfod on 29 September 2017. Mia received 2 Gold Certificates in the Musical and Classical Voice Categories for 8 to 9 year olds.
Laddsworth Primary’s Karate Champ
Tegra Kadudji, a Grade 4 pupil at Laddsworth Primary School competed in a Karate competition in Hilton on Saturday 14 October 2017. Tegra came first place in Kumeté and third place in Karté, in the 8 – 9 year old category.
Well done Tegra!
Laddsworth Runner’s up at Bisley Soccer Festival
The Laddsworth First Team Soccer Girls took part in the Bisley Soccer Festival , at Bisley Park Primary School. The First team lost to Bisley in the Final, which ended in a sudden death penalty shoot-out, Jordyn Wood was awarded ‘Best Player of the Festival’ and was presented with a soccer ball. Mr Sihle Nxumalo was named ‘Best Coach of the Season’ and was awarded a trophy.
Laddsworth Library best in KwaZulu Natal
Laddsworth Primary School participated in the School Library Excellence Awards (SLEA) programme. The school’s Media Centre was adjudicated by officials from the Provincial Department of Education office. Mrs Houghting, had to present a case study of the school’s Media Centre at the Awards Ceremony in Pietermaritzburg on Thursday 12 October 2017. Laddsworth was placed 1st in KwaZulu-Natal in the Urban Primary Schools section.
Laddsworth Primary Amashova Cyclists
Laddsworth pupils Evan Taylor (Grade 5) and Austin Taylor (Grade 4) took part in the 35km Amashova, from Hillcrest to Durban, on Sunday 22 October 2017.
Laddsworth Primary’s “girls only” team enjoy Mini Cricket Festival
Laddsworth Primary School took part in a Mini-Cricket Festival at Cowan House on Wednesday 18 October 2017. Teams from Grade One and Two took part in the festival, we are proud of all our teams; especially our victorious Grade One ‘girls only’ team.
Laddsworth PrimarySouth African Maths Champions
Jodi, (Grade 4) and Tessa Moreno, (Grade 2) participated in the Abacus and Mental Arithmetic National Championship in Roodepoort, Gauteng on Saturday 21 October 2017. Abagility teaches addition, subtraction, multiplication and division based on Japanese abacus mathematics techniques. Competition was tough, with around 130 pupils from across South Africa taking part. Jodi won the Champion trophy for her level and Tessa won a gold medal. The girls have been selected to represent South Africa at the International event to be held in Cape Town next year. Well done girls, Laddsworth is extremely proud of your achievements!
Laddsworth Primary Spanish Dancers
Laddsworth Grade 1 pupils Leah Daddy, Isabella Riggien and Mikayla Morcom were awarded certificates by the Spanish Dance Society for passing their ‘Preparación de Ingreso’ examination on 11 August 2017 in Pietermaritzburg. Well done Girls!
Laddsworth pupil successfully completes Sailing Course
Eben van Eeden, a Grade 2 pupil at Laddsworth Primary School, received a certificate for successfully completing the ‘My Introduction to Sailing Course’ on Saturday 6 October 2017 at the Henley Midmar Yacht Club.
