Laddsworth hosts Midlands Championship Gala

Laddsworth Primary School hosted the Midlands Championship Gala held at The Wykeham Collegiate School at the end of January.  Congratulations to the following Laddsworth pupils who were awarded medals:
Justin van der Merwe, Grade 4 Under 10 50m Freestyle Silver
Patrick Lamb, Grade 5 Under 11 50m Freestyle Bronze
Ella Shuttleworth, Grade 6 Under 12 50m Breaststroke Bronze; Under 12 100m Breaststroke Bronze
Reilly Shuttleworth, Grade 6 Under 12 100m Breaststroke Bronze
Rebecca Winterton, Grade 7 Under 13 400m

Thomas Truter, Under 13, won 3 Gold Medals for Breaststroke

Laddsworth Cricketer takes 5 Wickets!

Adam Tilbury, a Grade 5 pupil at Laddsworth Primary School, took 5 wickets for 11 runs on Saturday 3 February 2018, when the Under 11A Team played against Pelham in Pietermaritzburg. Laddsworth won the match by 8 wickets.

Jack Holtzhauzen in action

Jack Holtzhauzen, a Grade 5 pupil at Laddsworth Primary School, took 6 wickets for 16 runs against Howick on Saturday 10 February 2018. Jack plays for the under 11A team and bowled a hat trick as part of his outstanding bowling attack. Well done Jack!

Laddsworth Primary Far North Cricket Selection

L-R: Daniel Holtzhauzen, Ryan McKean and Colin Robertson

Daniel Holtzhauzen, Grade 7, Ryan McKean, Grade 6, and Colin Robertson, Grade 6, have been selected for the Far North Cricket team. They will be taking part in Midlands Cricket Trials at the Under 12 and Under 13 Central District Cricket Festival at St Charles College in Pietermaritzburg n Friday 2 March & Sunday 4 March 2018.
We wish them all the best!

Laddsworth Senior Primary Gala

Laddsworth Primary School held its Senior Primary Inter-house Gala on Friday 16 February 2018. We enjoyed beautiful weather for our fun-filled Gala, where Kudu were the overall winners. Four records were broken during the morning:
Irie-Mae Bailey broke the Under 9, girls 25m Freestyle record, in a time of 17.75 and the Under 9, 25m girls Butterfly record in a time of 23.03

Justin van der Merwe broke the Under 10 boys 25m Freestyle record in a time of 16.81.  Thomas Truter broke the boys Open 50m Breaststroke record in a time of 38.22.

Laddsworth Primary School celebrated Valentine’s Day by having a Valentine’s Day Civvies Day on Friday 9 February 2018.

Laddsworth Primary First Mini Cricket Festival of the year!

On Tuesday 6 February 2018 Laddsworth Grade One and Two pupils took part in a Mini Cricket Festival at Howick Preparatory School. The Grade One Teams won one game, lost one game and drew one game. The Grade Two Teams won 2 games and lost 2 games. All the children had great fun and learned some new skills for the next festival.
