Laddsworth Primary School recipient of Liberty Group award
The 2014 Grade 4 and 5 pupils at Laddsworth Primary School entered an Art Competition with the theme “What I want to be when I grow up” in October last year.
Mr Wayne Pillay, branch manager from Liberty Group Ltd Financial Services presented a cheque for an amount of R15, 000.00 at an Assembly recently.
Laddsworth was honoured with this prize for submitting the most entries. Well done to last year’s Grade 4 and 5’s for their outstanding efforts.
Laddsworths Sven Lindeque 2nd in Junior Division
Sven Lindeque competed in the Natal Open Clay Pigeon Competition recently. On the Saturday he shot 4 rounds to get a total of 42/100, and on the Sunday scored a total of 49/100.
Sven came 2nd in the Junior Division. Well done Sven!
Laddsworth Five out of five in KZN Inland Hockey
Five Laddsworth hockey players participated in the Inter Districts Trials Festival played at St Charles and St Johns where they represented the UMgungundlovu District during May.
Laddsworth Primary School is happy to share that they were all selected to represent KZN Inland Hockey. The girls are Rebecca van der Merwe who was chosen for the KZN Inland U13A team, None Zondi and Kelly Martin were both chosen for the KZN Inland U13C team and Ashleigh Rohrs who was selected to play in the KZN Inland U12B.
Ayaka Mthalane also participated in the Trials Festival and he joins the KZN Inland U12B.
Laddsworth Skipper passes with over 75%
Josh Heafield, who is in Grade Five at Laddsworth Primary School, completed a nine day Offshore Sailing Academy course in Durban last week. After an intense 9 days at sea, he successfully completed and passed the Day Skipper Exam and Yacht Hand Course, achieving a pass rate of over 75%.
This involved a theory and navigation exam as well as a practical sailing assessment to determine his competency at sea. Josh is able to skipper a power or sailing vessel not greater than 25m or 100 tons.
At age 11, Josh is one of the youngest students to have ever succeeded in completing this course.
