Kwanalu Hosts Diesel Rebate Workshop For Farmers
The KwaZulu-Natal Agricultural Union, Kwanalu, recently held a Diesel Rebate workshop in Pietermaritzburg for their members in a bid to answer mounting questions and confusion with regard to compliance of the agricultural diesel rebate system.
Held at The Royal Show grounds, the meeting was attended by over 230 Kwanalu members. Senior representatives from the SARS Legal and Auditing Departments gave a detailed presentation on how farmers in particular can legally and effectively claim for rebates on diesel used in specific farming practices.
“It was positive to see so many farmers in attendance, showing their willingness to comply with the somewhat difficult terms and conditions for agricultural diesel rebates,” said CEO of Kwanalu, Sandy La Marque.
During the workshop Kwanalu members were invited to give input into the functionality of the diesel rebate system; for example how to record diesel usage in a logbook. Further Kwanalu undertook to provide comments into the proposed review of the diesel rebate as mooted in parliament recently.
