On Thursday 14th February love was in the air at Khazimula.  Ardmore, our talented and internationally renowned ceramic neighbours in Lidgetton, presented Khazimula with a fantastic donation of R16,000.00.

This is the start of a community relationship between Khazimula Childrens’ Project,  Ardmore Ceramics and Mavromac Fabrics to commemorate the life and inspired works of Wonderboy who died from AIDS  in 2008.  He was a talented artist and poet and poured his soul into his ceramic work under the guiding hand of Fee Halsted, the founder of Ardmore.

Marguerite Mavros Macdonald, the founder of Mavromac, and Fee and her family have combined their creative skills to sow the story of Wonderboy into fabric.

Khazimula is a home for 30 orphans and vulnerable children found roaming the streets of nearby towns and villages in the Midlands.  The project began in 2007 and is ably steered by Mvuyo Ndenze and his team of angels who provide care, love and security to these children 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
