Karkloof 100 reveals huge jackpots for record runs

Taking place from September 20-22 this year, the Karkloof 100 Miler is a 100-mile foot race run through the indigenous forests, wetlands and grassland hills of KwaZulu-Natal’s beautiful Karkloof area.

In an exciting reveal last week, the race directors announced that the race will be offering a jackpot prize of $5000 (about R71 000) for the first man to run the race in 15 hours or less; and $5000 to the first woman to run the race in under 16 hours, 30 minutes.

Race Director Jack Davis says: “With the course being very ‘runnable’ by ultra-marathon standards, we feel that these targets are attainable. We look forward to attracting a quality field and hosting an exciting race for all!”

This exciting jackpot reaffirms the status of this local race as the pinnacle of ultra trail running in South Africa.
