Howick High Pupil excels at the Roof of Africa Enduro Challenge

Over the weekend of 16 November 2013, Hayden Neave, currently in Grade 10 at Howick High School, competed in the Silver Class of the Roof of Africa, known as the most challenging and dangerous off-road motorcycle race in the world. He performed excellently to achieve third place in his class.

Having not only faced the most appalling weather, he ran out of fuel just 50 meters from the finish but managed to complete the race with the kind assistance of a fellow competitor who syphoned off enough fuel for him to make it to the end.

To illustrate the difficulty of the race, 182 competitors entered the silver class with only 23 riders completing the course. Congratulations Hayden!
