Howick High Grade 8 & 9 Knitting for 67 Blankets for Mandela Day

At the end of the 2nd Term, our Grade 8 & 9 pupils started knitting scarves as part of their Art & Culture Syllabus. It was decided that all scarves collected would be donated to charity. We collected a total of 135 scarves and we would like to thank all pupils, parents, teachers and friends who took the time to make and donate a scarf. 50 scarves were donated to the ‘Medlemon Scarves for Schools’ initiative, sponsored by Glaxosmithkline and judging by the footage shared with us, the recipients were delighted with their scarves. 85 scarves have also been donated to the ’67 blankets for Mandela Day’ initiative and these will be distributed to those in need on Nelson Mandela Day (18 July).
