Howick Arts Society dates in June
Meetings, workshop and lessons
The next HARTS (Howick Arts Society) meeting will take place at 2pm in the Anglican Church Hall in Harvard Street, Howick on Monday, June 3. Visitors and new members are always welcome.
The guest speaker on June 3 is Pinkie Nkabinda from the Tatham Art Gallery who will do a critique on members’ art – society members are encouraged to bring in their latest artworks.
The monthly “workshop” features well-known Midlands artist Brent Dodd and will be held on Monday, June 24, featuring “Oil Painting a Landscape” and how to complete an artwork in two hours for a contemporary art environment, focusing on painting techniques.
Art lessons are ongoing in the Doris Robbins room at the Howick Library, on Tuesday afternoons from 2pm-4pm. These lessons are free of charge and anyone with an interest in art is welcome to join in. A HARTS member is in attendance to help and inspire budding artists. There is no charge.
If anyone would like a course on any particular aspect of art, for example, portraiture, perspective, still life, etc, then this can be arranged, the society says.
The Tree Art Group will meet again to work “en plein aire” at the end of June.
