Gardeners Notes

Dear Fellow Gardeners

Where is winter this year? We have had a few frosty days during the first 2weeks of June and then again 3 x frosts in the first week of July and that was it! The weavers have started stripping the Palm trees and the Cordylines to build their nests. Maybe these birds are more informed then we are about the weather? But Mother Nature has never skipped a winter in Rosetta in the past 10 years that we have been here.

Yes that is true! We are celebrating our 10th anniversary this year September and we are planning real bumper specials during spring. Watch the press for details!

We invite all our customers for free cake, tea and coffee during the month of September. We would really appreciate if some of our older customers could come to the nursery to celebrate with us!

Our new season roses have already been planted up and are looking great. The flowering cherries and crab apples are also now ready to be planted out.

We have beautiful Acer Palmatum (Japanese Maples) in stock. This medium size tree is a winner in my garden. Especially in Autumn when their amber-red foliage is spectacular and in Spring their lime-green leaves are beautiful.

Pansies and Violas can still be planted and they will flower without fail right through to Summer.

We are having a FREE rose pruning demonstration on the 27th July 2013. Please book in advance and your garden worker is also welcome.

Happy gardening!
Kind regards.
