One of the most exciting days on the Cordwalles Preparatory School Grade 7 calendar-card is the go-kart races. As part of the grade 7 boys design and technology syllabus, the boys build their own go-karts, which they race through the school and the school forest. There is great excitement for all those who participated and the many spectators.

Cordwalles Preparatory School recently celebrated Arbor Day by planting 120 trees in their ever-expanding forest area on the school property. This is part of the school’s drive to re-establish an indigenous forest in an area that used to be a gum-tree plantation.

Cordwalles Preparatory School hosted their inaugural orienteering race this weekend which saw parents and pupils alike navigating a map throughout the 15 hector school grounds, which included their school’s indigenous forest. Great fun was had by the large turnout of participants on a sweltering summer’s day. We look forward to making this an annual event.

In support of the Pink Drive awareness campaign, the boys at Cordwalles Preparatory School participated in a swimathon. All boys from Grades 4 – 7 entered teams and swam a relay for 20 minutes receiving sponsorship for every length they swam. The Cordwalles boy did the school proud by swimming a total of 2311 lengths.

The following afternoon, the Pink Drive continued. The Cordies moms and friends enjoyed an informative talk by Claire Kooiman from Skinworx, followed by a delightful Fashion Show organised by Irene’s Models and Splash Swimwear held in the Junior Primary School garden quad. During the afternoon the ladies enjoyed a tea party and all monies raised was donated to this very worthy cause.
