Cordwalles Preparatory School proudly opened their multi-purpose astro turf which will be used for tennis, hockey and cricket.

After the official opening by Rev. Ron Nicolson, three tennis matches were played; the Cordwalles Senior and Junior tennis teams competed for the championship trophy and an exhibition tennis match between two Cordwalles Old Boys entertained the crowd.

The Cordwalles 1st XI Hockey team then displayed the versatility of the multi-purpose astro in a friendly internal match. Twelve Cordwalles Old Boys who have excelled, either as first team players at their respective schools, or as provincial or national hockey players, further entertained the parents and boys with a closely contested exhibition match.

The Cordwalles boys  enjoyed an  inspirational talk from  old boy Xilombe  Tlakula this morning…
The Cordwalles  Preparatory School  boys were reminded  by Xilombe Tlakula  (Old Boy – 2011), that  courage and determination can conquer any challenge that life has to throw at us. Xilombe sadly lost his arm whilst on a school outing in the Drakensberg in Grade 9.

What a muddy, wet outing! The Cordwalles Preparatory School Grade 3 boys revelled in the slush of the Hilton College wetlands!

Mr John Roffe, the environmentalist at Hilton College, walked and talked the boys around this pristine gem and their eyes were opened to the characteristics and the immense value of this water source. The boys saw the biggest earthworm casts, the tallest termite hills and felt the soggy vibrations as Mr Roffe jumped on the bog!

What a great outing where boys can be boys!
