Simon Weaver bids farewell to Cordwalles Prep

Mr Simon Weaver, Headmaster of Cordwalles Preparatory School bids good bye to the Cordwalles Community after 12 years as Headmaster. Mr Weaver has had a long association with the school having been a boy for 6 years from 1970 to 1975 and then a Boarder Master in 1983. The parents, staff and boys salute Mr Weaver for the remarkable transformation that has taken place at Cordwalles in recent years. Enrolment has risen from 250 boys in 2004 to 360 and he has spearheaded many exciting new building projects at the school too.

In Mr Weaver’s words; “I will have had twelve very happy years at this wonderful school and in this outstanding community. I believe that there is a season for everything and that my Cordwalles season needs to end at this time”.

Mr Weaver has accepted the headship at Western Province Preparatory School in Cape Town, commencing in 2016. Mr Lance Veenstra, Deputy Headmaster and who is highly respected in the Pietermaritzburg and Midlands Community, has been appointed as only the 7th Headmaster of the school in its 104 years of educating prep school boys.
