‘Comrades – Miles 4 Marrow’

Runners Paul Laing, Lauren Corcoran, Julia Thompson, Paul Hopeful and Jonathan Riby-Smith from Hilton Harriers are getting ready for The Sunflower Fund’s 56Miles4Marrow Campaign.

Each runner is involved in obtaining sponsorship per mile run to raise much needed funds for The Sunflower Fund. According to Kenwyn Geyser, PR & Events Specialist in Pietermaritzburg, the Comrades Marathon is arguably the greatest ultra-marathon in the world where athletes come from all over the world to conquer the approximate 56 miles between the cities of Pietermaritzburg and Durban.

“It is both heart-warming and encouraging to see sportsmen and women eagerly supporting The Fund by doing the activity they are so passionate about. The funds they raise allow us to recruit more donors for inclusion on the South African Bone Marrow Registry (SABMR), bringing hope to all the patients who are so desperately searching for their perfect donor match.” says Kenwyn.
Anyone running the Comrades Marathon who would like to do it for a worthy cause, can sign up by contacting Kenwyn Geyser on 083 632 3224 or emailing kenwyn@sunflowerfund.org.za
