Clifton Notties prankster lands in icy water for a good cause

A prank on his teacher, Sally Cahill, landed Henry Bezuidenhout, a cheeky grade 6 pupil at Clifton, Nottingham Road, in some rather icy water. Exacting her “revenge” for having a bucket of water poured over her, Sally decided to challenge Henry, who in turn challenged some friends, to an Ice Bucket Challenge to raise funds for the Ryan Walker Foundation.

Ryan Walker, a farmer in Mooi River and former Sharks rugby player was diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease (MND) in 2013. The Ryan Walker Foundation (www.ryanwalker.co.za) was set up to raise funds to support Ryan’s treatment as well as raise awareness about the terminal disease that this year, claimed the life of Joost van der Westhuizen. The teachers and students at Clifton Prep in Nottingham Road, managed to raise R1000 for the cause.
Expressing his gratitude, Ryan said: “We can’t thank Sally, Henry, his friends and the rest of the staff and pupils at Clifton Notties enough for their overwhelming generosity and support, it really is humbling.
