Attend Varsity in Howick

Cornerstone Institute is leading the way in providing innovative, accredited tertiary education to students in their local communities at a fraction of the cost. The great news is that they now have a campus opening in Howick (KZN) in January 2014! This was the exciting news announced at the recent launch of Cornerstone Howick, attended by key stakeholders in the Midlands community.

Our cutting-edge learning programmes will combine the convenience of e-learning with all the benefits of traditional campus life, including social interaction, counselling, student support and community projects. “Online or distance learning can be lonely,” explains Matt Hogarty, Facilitator of the Howick Campus located at The Oasis Church (72 Main Street, Howick), “and the Cornerstone concept has been designed to change that.” Each student will have access to a shared learning experience in a supportive environment founded on Christian principles. Each one of the range of Degree, Diploma and Certificate Programmes are fully-accredited by the Council on Higher Education, and seek to prepare students to function as critical citizens, ethical leaders and qualified professionals in a global context.

On registration each student will receive a 7” tablet and gain access to an advanced e-learning platform that provides students with interactive video-delivered lecture material, cutting-edge resources and support, and easy communication with subject advisors. Students then regularly assemble in their local Cornerstone Learning Community campuses for virtual group tutorials aimed at unpacking the concepts and material presented in video lectures. These forums are led by a lecturer, tutor, mentor or subject expert, and provide the perfect opportunity for students to thoroughly comprehend their course content in a supportive, stimulating and creative environment.

Costs of our education programmes run at 30 to 40 percent lower than state-owned or private education institutions. In addition, studying through Cornerstone Learning Communities allows you to attend a university in your hometown – therefore saving on transport costs and accommodation. For both young and old, this means that your dreams of getting a tertiary qualification are no longer out of reach. Why not consider one of the degree, diploma or certificate programmes offered by Cornerstone, and make your dreams a reality?

All registrations and course information is available at www.cornerstone.ac.za. Alternatively phone 08 7755 7755 or sms you name to 082 797 9006 and we will call you back. Deadline for registration for January 2014 intake is 13 December.

[Cornerstone offers both full-time and part-time study options in Business Leadership, Teaching, Psychology, Community Development, Fine Arts, Interior Design, Theology and Sociology. June/July intake is also available for
some programmes.]
