67 Blankets for Nelson …..in the Midlands
Staff members and pupils at Clifton Preparatory School, Nottingham RoadKZN, have joined the Knit Wit Revolution for Mandela. Sixty-Seven Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day’ (18 July) is an idea that has gone global, a movement where people can do their bit for others, making something with their own two hands – where stitch by stitch they will be keeping someone less fortunate warm this winter. Eager children at Clifton have been given wool and needles and are making squares. If parents have wool and needles at home, perhaps you could assist and encourage your children join the movement.
Why not become a ‘Knit Wit’ or ‘Happy Hooker’ (crochet) too by making your own blankets?”
Read about it on Facebook – 67 blankets for Nelson Mandela.
Take a day out in the Midlands and join fellow knitwitters (or supporters) and join us for the KZN blanket handover on the 15 June (Father’s day) at the Mandela Capture site, R103, Lions River, Kzn Midlands. Bring your own picnic, enjoy the music and keep knitting.
